Product description
A Step-by-Step Guide to Providing Access to Information is a loose-leaf product which provides practical guidance to companies compiling their manual and dealing with requests for disclosure. This title is not available online.
The Promotion of Access to Information Act No. 2 of 2000 came into operation on 9 March 2001. The Act allows individuals to obtain information or records held by a public institution or private body. This enables members of the public to access information held by companies, close corporations, partnerships, proprietorships and individuals. In terms of section 51 of PAIA, the head of private bodies must compile a manual, giving information to the public regarding the procedure to be followed in requesting information from that private body when any rights of an individual need to be exercised or protected. This Guide will assist companies to compile their manual and deal with requests for disclosure.
