This eLearning course is to capacitate the attendee with practical knowledge on Financial management from chapter 4 of the CIGFARO handbook.
One Year Subscription Only Terms
Subscribers receive the product(s) listed on the Order Form and any Updates made available during the annual subscription period. Shipping and handling fees are not included in the annual price.
Subscribers are advised of the number of Updates that were made to the particular publication the prior year. The number of Updates may vary due to developments in the law and other publishing issues, but subscribers may use this as a rough estimate of future shipments. Subscribers may cancel this subscription by: calling Customer Support at 800-833-9844; emailing customer.support@lexisnexis.com; or returning the invoice marked 'CANCEL'.
If subscribers cancel within 30 days after the product is ordered or received and return the product at their expense, then they will receive a full credit of the price for the annual subscription.
If subscribers cancel between 31 and 60 days after the invoice date and return the product at their expense, then they will receive a 5/6th credit of the price for the annual subscription. No credit will be given for cancellations more than 60 days after the invoice date. To receive any credit, subscriber must return all product(s) shipped during the year at their expense within the applicable cancellation period listed above.

This eLearning course is to capacitate the attendee with practical knowledge on Financial management from chapter 4 of the CIGFARO handbook.
The course outlines the planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the financial activities such as procurement and utilization of funds.
Upon completion of this module you should be able to:
List the seven mSCOA segments
Navigate the mSCOA tree on the National Treasury website
Identify the correct GUIDs for various transactions in the municipality
Discuss the impact of the mSCOA movement accounts on the budgeted cash flow statement of a municipality (in other words, explain how the use of the movement accounts will influence the budgeted cash flow statement)
Design internal control and internal control evaluation framework
Interpret South African legislation and policy affecting municipal financial management€¢ Apply principles of information systems to public finance and administration
Apply principles of computerised systems to manage data and reports relevant to the public sector administration
Apply approaches to managing municipal income and expenditure within a multi-year framework
Conduct working capital management activities in accordance with sound financial management policy
Apply accounting principles and procedures in the preparation of reports and decision-making
Manage a municipality's assets and liabilities
Apply selected GRAP to the periodic accounting reporting process
Prepare and analyse municipal financial reports
